Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts geared up for the team’s home opener by taking on a challenge unlike any other: Raising Cane’s Fry Cook & Cashier.
The six-time Gold Glove winner, seven-time MLB All-Star and two-time World Series champ stepped up to the plate at 1300 E Valley Blvd, Alhambra, CA, on March 27th to serve Dodgers’ fans pregame chicken finger meals before going to bat against the St. Louis Cardinals. And much like the recent decision to move Betts from second base to shortstop, he proved his precision and speed in his new position as Fry Cook & Cashier – taking fans’ orders in Drive Thru, slinging Box Combos and bringing awareness to a good cause.
After his “shift” at our Alhambra Raising Cane’s, we presented a $100,000 check to Betts’ 5050 Foundation, which provides kids a chance to “step up to the plate” by building and providing groundbreaking sports programs at inner city schools and empowering kids through physical, mental, financial and nutritional education.
Once the check was presented, Betts thanked his fans and Raising Cane’s just before a roaring “Mookie!” chant broke out – preparing everyone for the season ahead.
